TYPICAL APPLICATIONS
Used for joining dissimilar steels with stainless steel of any type. Used as a buffer layer prior to surfacing with 316 L for corrosion resistant overlays. Higher tolerance to dilution than 309S92 increase range of applications, but note that the lower ferrite potential reduces tolerance to dilution compared with related electrodes. Used for dissimilar welds where lower ferrite value and higher ductility is required. Not recommended for structural applications where post weld heat treatment is to be carried out or for long term high temperature service above 400?C.
